The Natural Resources Defense Council, located in Santa Monica, California, is an organization whose business it is to defend the environment and should not be confused with the National Resources Defense Council! NRDC, another one of our LEED installations, has been involved with such diverse issues as: Clean Air & Energy, Global Warming, Nuclear Weapons & Waste, US Law & Policy, to name a few.
LEED is the acronymn meaning Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and the buildings must meet stringent requirements in order to qualify as a LEED project.

The science building houses the computer that will allow the students to "see" the solar system working
on the roof. They can watch the power increase during the day and will be able to monitor the energy output of the
17 kW system, located in Glendale, California.
